About Scott

I began my law enforcement career in the early 90’s with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office while attending Sam State University in Huntsville, Texas serving in the capacities of jailer, transport deputy, and patrol deputy. Later in my career, I decided to make the transition into Fort Bend and Harris Counties. During my time with the Stafford Police Department, I was fortunate enough to promote to detective, after only 6 months of employment. I was then assigned to the Fort Bend County Narcotic Task Force working in an undercover capacity. I successfully led and assisted in investigating numerous narcotic related crimes on the state and federal level in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency. My tasks at the time were not only limited to narcotics investigations but for assistance with internal affairs investigations, along with major crime initiatives. Professionally, I gained a vast amount of administrative experience. In 2007, I was selected among many great candidates to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Fulshear, Texas located in Fort Bend County, after the city police department was dissolved in the early ’90s. The growth and development of this area within Fort Bend County dictated the need for re-establishing the city’s police department. As the Chief of Police, I spent the next several months developing the agency by establishing a budget, writing policy, purchasing equipment, hiring staff, writing and implementing memorandums of understanding with surrounding law enforcement agencies. Starting a police department from the ground up was not only challenging but very rewarding. I successfully implemented community-oriented policing programs one of which was active involvement with the Fort Bend County Meals on Wheels for local homebound senior citizens. My philosophy was not only about service but placing community first by having the citizen’s interest at heart. In May of 2015, I began working for the Comal County Sheriff’s Office where I am currently employed. My role as a deputy sheriff and assignment to the Community Resource Team as a School Resource Officer expands upon my philosophy of service to the community with an emphasis on making a positive impact on the children and citizens of Comal County. My principle foundation in life is Faith, Family, and Service.
